Details
Worm Power is a leading producer of premium, 100% organic vermicompost products derived from a controlled-environment vermicomposting process. Operating one of the world's largest facilities of its kind—with over 80,000 square feet of covered and indoor space—Worm Power transforms dairy manure solids into high-quality worm castings using millions of red wiggler earthworms (Eisenia fetida).
Production Process
The proprietary four-stage production process ensures consistency, pathogen elimination, and microbial richness:
- Feedstock Sourcing — From a partnered New York State Dairy of Distinction farm, with monitored cattle feed and health.
- Thermophilic Composting — Aerated static pile composting for 30+ days at temperatures exceeding 130°F (achieving pathogen reduction).
- Vermicomposting — In controlled digester beds where worms digest pre-composted material, producing nutrient-rich castings.
- Extraction/Filtration — For liquid products, a proprietary aerobic extraction process yields a stable, filter-friendly liquid (suitable for drip irrigation and fertigation systems without clogging).
Key Products
- Liquid Extract → A concentrated, aerobically extracted suspension of worm castings containing beneficial microorganisms (over 1,400–1,600 identified microbial communities), macro- and micronutrients, and humic substances. Compatible with soil, soilless, and hydroponic systems.
- Granular Vermicompost → Pure, screened worm castings for soil amendment, top-dressing, or mixing.
Technical Benefits
Backed by Cornell University research and extensive field trials, Worm Power products enhance soil microbiology, improving:
- Nutrient uptake efficiency
- Root development
- Plant vigor
- Stress tolerance (drought, heat, salt, pests)
- Disease suppression
Reported yield increases include up to 28% in strawberries, 13–37% in tomatoes and cannabis (dry flower and THC content), and enhanced turf performance on over half of the top 100 U.S. golf courses.
Ideal for commercial agriculture (greenhouse, CEA, field crops), turf management, cannabis cultivation, and organic/home gardening, Worm Power supports regenerative practices by promoting carbon sequestration, reducing synthetic inputs, and fostering sustainable soil health.
