UPL Procure 480 SC Fungicide - 1 Quart (12/Cs)
Details
PROCURE 480SC fungicide is a locally systemic imidazole fungicide formulated as a soluble concentrate for the preventative and curative control of key fungal diseases, primarily powdery mildew, in pome fruit, stone fruit, berries, grapes, hops, and various vegetables.
Chemical Composition and Formulation
The active ingredient is Triflumizole. The product is formulated as a 480SC, or 480 grams per liter soluble concentrate.
Functional Mechanism and Design
Triflumizole is a locally systemic fungicide with protectant and curative activity. It belongs to the imidazole chemical class and inhibits sterol biosynthesis (demethylation inhibitor, DMI), disrupting fungal cell membrane formation. It is rapidly absorbed into plant tissue.
Target Applications and Performance
This product is labeled for use on a wide range of crops including apples, pears, cherries (sweet and tart), grapes, hops, strawberries, cucurbits (cucumber, melons, squash), leafy greens, and brassica vegetables. Its primary target is powdery mildew caused by various Podosphaera, Sphaerotheca, and Uncinula species. It also provides control or suppression of apple scab (Venturia inaequalis), cedar apple rust (Gymnosporangium juniperi-virginianae), cherry blossom blight and fruit rot (Monilinia spp.), and cherry leaf spot (Blumeriella jaapii). It is tank-mixable and recommended for use in resistance management programs.
Application Specifications and Protocol
Application is made as a foliar spray. Specific rates and timing are crop- and disease-dependent:
-
Apples/Pears (Powdery Mildew, Scab, Rust): 8-16 fl oz/acre. Initiate at ½" green tip; repeat at 7-14 day intervals. An eradicant (post-infection) schedule of 8-16 fl oz/acre within 96 hours of infection start is also specified.
-
Cherries (Powdery Mildew, Blossom Blight): 8-16 fl oz/acre. Apply at early popcorn, full bloom, and petal fall.
-
Grapes (Powdery Mildew): 4-8 fl oz/acre. Begin before bloom; repeat at 14-21 day intervals.
-
Hops (Powdery Mildew): 12 fl oz/acre. Begin prior to disease; repeat on a 14-day schedule.
-
Strawberries (Powdery Mildew): 4-8 fl oz/acre. Initiate at first sign; repeat at 14-day intervals.
All applications must provide thorough coverage. Aerial application requires a minimum of 10 gallons of water per acre. The maximum seasonal application rate is 96 fl oz/acre for tree fruits and 36 fl oz/acre for hops. The pre-harvest interval (PHI) is 1 day for most labeled crops, including apples and strawberries.
Handling and Safety
A restricted entry interval (REI) of 24 hours (1 day) is required for girdling grapes. All other standard handling, personal protective equipment (PPE), storage, and disposal instructions are as mandated by the EPA-approved product label. Do not apply where runoff may occur to aquatic habitats.
