Details

Rockwell Labs InVite Moth Lures are a dual-format system of non-toxic pheromone attractants designed for monitoring and mass-trapping specific stored-product moth species in commercial food handling and storage environments.

Chemical Composition and Formulation
The product consists of two distinct pheromone lure formats. The Gel Lure (IMLG012) utilizes a thickened food-grade gelled-oil technology that contains the synthetic pheromone blends. The Rubber Septa Lure (IMML012) consists of a rubber septum impregnated with the same synthetic pheromone blends. Both formats are Non-Toxic and Non-Pesticidal, relying solely on attraction. They are designated as Green Zone™ products suitable for integrated pest management (IPM) programs.

Functional Mechanism and Design
The lures are designed for sustained, controlled release of moth pheromones. The gelled-oil technology protects the pheromones prior to use and provides a uniform release over time. The rubber septum similarly allows for a slow, consistent pheromone release. This controlled release maximizes the effective range and longevity of the lure, which then attracts male moths to the glueboard or trap in which it is placed.

Target Applications and Performance
The product is specifically formulated to attract male moths of key stored-product pest species. Target moths include Plodia, Ephestia, Indian Meal Moth, Tobacco Moth, Almond Moth, Mediterranean Flour Moth, and Raisin Moth. The intended use environment is within commercial facilities handling susceptible products, including retail stores, food storage warehouses, and processing areas.

Application Specifications and Protocol
The lures are placed directly onto the adhesive surface of a glueboard or within a specialized monitoring station such as the D-Sect™ IPM Station. For high-volume trapping in dusty areas, the gel lure can also be used in a Yellow PFT™ Station. The gel lure is supplied in a 12-dose mini-syringe for precise application. The rubber septa lures are individually wrapped, with 12 lures per pack.

Handling and Safety
As non-toxic, non-pesticidal attractants, specific hazards are minimal. For optimal shelf life, long-term storage of more than one month is recommended under refrigeration or freezing conditions. The effectiveness period is product-dependent: the gel lure is effective up to 90 days, while the rubber septa lure is effective up to 60 days (or a minimum of 6 weeks).
