Quali-Pro Mefenoxam 2 AQ Fungicide - 1-Gallon (2/Cs)
About this product
Quali-Pro Mefenoxam 2 AQ is an aqueous, water-based flowable systemic fungicide containing mefenoxam (two pounds of active ingredient per gallon) for control of diseases caused by Oomycete-class fungi. It is a FRAC Group 4 phenylamide fungicide with a low-odor formulation that is absorbed and translocated through the plant and can provide up to three weeks of protection.
Active Ingredient
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Active ingredient | Mefenoxam, 2 lb per gallon |
| Formulation | Aqueous flowable (water-based) |
| Fungicide group | FRAC Group 4 (phenylamide) |
| Action | Systemic |
Mode of Action and Diseases Controlled
Mefenoxam is taken up and moved systemically through the plant, where it suppresses the Oomycete pathogens that cause damping-off and root and stem diseases from Pythium and Phytophthora species, as well as foliar diseases such as downy mildew and yellow tuft. Other fungicides are needed for diseases caused by other classes of fungi.
Use Sites and Methods
For use on turf, nursery, greenhouse, and ornamental crops, conifers, non-bearing fruit and nut trees, and landscapes. It may be applied through spray equipment or irrigation systems, as a soil drench or soil-surface spray (broadcast or banded), as a stem and foliar spray, or incorporated into growing media before seeding or transplanting.
| Use | Rate |
|---|---|
| Turf diseases | 0.49 to 0.98 fl oz in 1 to 5 gallons of water per 1,000 square feet, reapply every 7 to 14 days |
| Soil surface spray | 0.2 to 1.0 fl oz per 1,000 square feet |
| Foliar downy mildew | 0.49 to 0.98 fl oz per 100 gallons, tank-mixed with a non-Group 4 fungicide |
| Foliar Phytophthora | 0.98 to 1.96 fl oz per 100 gallons |
| Pre-potting media | 0.12 to 0.24 fl oz per gallon of water per cubic yard of media |
For best results, apply 0.5 inch of irrigation or rainfall within 24 hours of application.
Resistance Management
As a Group 4 fungicide, apply only one foliar application before alternating with a fungicide of a different mode of action; downy mildew applications must be tank-mixed with a non-Group 4 partner.
Safety and Handling
Wear a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, shoes, socks, gloves, and eye protection. Mefenoxam can be toxic to aquatic organisms; do not apply where it may contaminate water, and avoid spray drift.
