The Pulsa Gateway Hardware, Sensors and Accessories platform provides cellular and WiFi gateways, battery-powered wireless sensors, sensor interface modules, and installation accessories for remote inventory measurement and environmental sensing. Sensors measure pressure, differential pressure, temperature, and weight, transmitting data via 2.4 GHz wireless to a gateway that relays readings over cellular networks. The system operates without wired sensor connections or on-site configuration.
Construction and Design
Gateway enclosures are molded from weather-resistant polycarbonate. The cellular gateway measures 4.1 inches long by 4.1 inches wide by 1.4 inches deep and weighs 0.6 lb. Internal antennas include a cellular wide-band antenna operating from 700 to 2700 MHz and a 2.4 GHz BLE antenna. A cellular gateway with external antenna is also available. The solar kit enclosure is also polycarbonate, mounted on a 5052 aluminum bracket with 0.081-inch thickness, measuring 19.5 inches long by 13.5 inches wide by 8.25 inches deep and weighing 15 lb.
Pressure and differential pressure sensors use 316 stainless steel wetted components. The differential pressure sensor enclosure combines stainless steel with glass-reinforced nylon, measuring 4 inches high by 3 inches wide by 1.5 inches deep and weighing 0.8 lb. The headspace pressure sensor enclosure uses stainless steel and glass-reinforced nylon, measuring 3.6 inches high by 1.2 inches wide by 1.2 inches deep and weighing 0.7 lb. Process connections are 1/4-inch NPT.
Industrial scales are fabricated from powder-coated steel. The 2-foot by 2-foot platform measures 24 inches long by 24 inches wide with adjustable height from 3.75 to 5.75 inches and weighs 65 lb. The 3-foot by 3-foot platform measures 36 inches long by 36 inches wide at the same adjustable height and weighs 95 lb. The weight tile sensor uses a glass-reinforced polycarbonate platform measuring 12 inches long by 12 inches wide by 1.75 inches high and weighing 2.3 lb per platform. Puck tank level sensors are weight sensor platforms supplied with install kits for tanks with feet or for flat-bottom tanks.
Temperature sensors and probes use sealed enclosures rated IP67. The ambient temperature sensor measures 1.69 inches long by 1.69 inches wide by 0.58 inches high and weighs 0.85 oz. The temperature probe beacon has the same footprint with a 1.18-inch probe on a 7.18-inch wire, weighing 1.52 oz.
Pulsa Link interface modules are housed in polycarbonate enclosures measuring 3.5 inches long by 2.9 inches wide by 1.7 inches high and weighing 0.8 lb. Connections use an M12 waterproof threaded connector with a 4-wire pigtail.

Power and Connectivity
Cellular gateways connect to Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and over 400 international carriers across 150 countries. An international roaming SIM is pre-installed. The gateway auto-discovers the strongest available cellular signal and supports 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks. A WiFi gateway variant connects to local wireless networks. Each gateway can receive data from sensors within a 350-foot line-of-sight range on the 2.4 GHz band. Sensors transmit measurement payloads that any gateway within range receives and forwards.
Wireless sensors in the platform are battery-powered. Pressure sensors use a replaceable 3.6V 1/2AA battery. Industrial scales use a replaceable 3.6V battery. Weight tile sensors use a replaceable 3.6V battery. Temperature sensors use a replaceable CR2450 coin cell. Pulsa Link interfaces use a replaceable 3.6V LiSoCl2 Size D battery. Battery life ranges from 5 to 10 years depending on the device and measurement frequency. Low battery warnings are transmitted to the dashboard.
The solar charging kit provides an alternative power source for cellular gateways in off-grid installations. It includes a 20-watt solar panel and a 12V 10Ah LiFePO4 battery. The system achieves a full charge in 6 hours of sun and provides 25 days of autonomous operation without sun. A battery backup charge kit with power adapter is also available.
Pulsa Link sensor interfaces connect third-party devices with 4-20mA or 0-5V outputs to the Pulsa platform. Four versions are available: a passive model that accepts 4-20mA, 0-10V, or relay signals without providing excitation power; a 15V output model for 4-20mA sensors; a 15V output model for 0-5V sensors; and a regulated 5V output model for 0-5V sensors. Custom connectors are available for Rotarex C-Stic SGB2 and C-Stic Lite devices, Cyl-Tec Level-Eye devices, and Chart Carbo-Series WIKA devices with 0-5V or 4-20mA outputs.
Accessories
Differential pressure plumbing kits are available in brass and 316 stainless steel for Chart and WIKA device installations. Industrial scale ramps measure 2 feet by 2 feet or 3 feet by 3 feet to facilitate loading. A scale mounting kit includes C-channels, straps, and bolts. A split extension power cable extends gateway power by 20 feet. A standard 5V power cable is available for the cellular gateway. Replacement batteries include a 10Ah LiFePO4 solar kit battery, a 3.6V ER14505 industrial scale battery, and a 3.6V ER34615 Link battery. A solar kit magnet mounting kit facilitates panel attachment.
