Plant Concentrate Extraction Equipment, Systems, Solvents, and Supplies

Different Types of Extraction Equipment, Extraction Systems, Extraction Solvents, and Extraction Supplies-

Thinking about getting into the plant extraction business? Or perhaps you are in need of a new type of extraction system, or potentially adding an additional revenue stream to your commercial horticultural grow operation?   If you are in fact, interested in or are in need of commercial plant extraction equipment, or are in need of extraction equipment and system costs, CO2 extraction equipment costs, ethanol extraction equipment costs, other type of extraction system, or need wholesale extraction system, extraction solvent and extraction supplies; MORR Inc. has you covered.

Check out the list below of the different types of plant extraction processes

These are the main methods used to extract CBD, botanicals, essential oils, and other natural compounds from plants and herbs-

CO2 Extraction -

SuperCritical CO2 Extraction, Mid Critical, Sub Critical CO2 extraction is the most popular extraction method. There are 3 main types of co2 extraction- sub critical, mid critical, and supercritical co2 extraction. Depending on the concentrate or compound being extracted from a seed, herb, flower, or other type of plant, will directly correlate which co2 extraction system would be the best option.

Pro’s-

  • Co2 is, in most cases, reusable.
  • Cheaper to operate when compared to other types of extraction systems
  • Healthiest method of extraction.
  • Higher quality final product

Con’s-

  • Higher start-up costs
  • Commercial co2 equipment and CO2 extraction systems are expensive
  • High maintenance
  • In some cases, produces lower yields when compared to ethanol based extraction systems.

Alcohol, Ethanol Extraction, Butane Extraction and Vacuum Ovens-- quick pros and cons.

Alcohol, ethanol, and other solvent based extraction is the next popular method for plant concentrate extraction. Solvent and ethanol extraction equipment and systems basically utilize a wide selection of refined pure alcohol, ethanol, butane or other compound to extract the desired plant concentrates from plant matter. Using this method for extraction will leave trace amounts of the compound used for extraction. As such, many ethanol and butane extractors utilize high quality vacuum ovens to reduce or remove all trace amounts of the extraction compounds.

Pro’s- - Solvent extraction typically has lower start up costs. - Alcohol, ethanol, and butane extraction processes produce more when compared to co2 extraction processes. - Extraction equipment and system maintenance is typically cheaper when compared to co2 extraction systems.

Con’s- -Perhaps the most dangerous extraction method as chemicals are extremely flammable. - Solvents are harmful to human health. - Higher production costs compared to co2 extraction - Restrictions on types of final products made with solvent extraction.

Carrier Oil Extraction-

Plant concentrate and compound carrier oil extraction is basically the process of heating up the plant matter first , then combining this specially cooked plant matter with olive oil, hemp seed oil, or coconut oil and heating up for a period of time together. This method in some cases, is not as efficient at extracting the desired plant compounds as CO2 extraction, solvent, or ethanol extraction processes.

Pro’s- - One of the safest methods of plant concentrate and compound extraction systems. - Provides for markets and consumers that are sensitive to certain plant concentrates, essential and botanical oils, and other plant compounds - Low start up costs whether as a new business or addition to an existing commercial grow operation.

Con’s-

  • Low potency in finished extracted product
  • Impure, Mixed product
  • Complicated to scale as a large commercial operation.

Cold Pressed Extraction-

The cold pressed extraction process is one of the best natural methods for extracting “all of the good stuff” from plants versus that of using harmful alcohols, ethanol, butane or other extraction solvent. The process of cold pressed extraction is basically taking a plant, herb, flower, or other type of plant matter and using a high power “juicer” to literally squish plant fats, vitamins, minerals, plant oils, nutrients, phytonutrients, and more naturally and without using harmful chemicals.

Pro’s

  • Natural extraction process
  • Environmentally friendly
  • Highest quality finished product

Con’s-

  • Complicated to scale out large commercial operations
  • Can be a slower more labor intensive extraction process compared to Alcohol/solvent extraction or co2 extraction processes.
