Dramm Shut-Off Valves for Every Need
Dramm manufactures a variety of valves for garden hose thread. These range from the new QAV valve to the Brass 300. Each has its strengths and specific uses and applications. By understanding these valves and their properties will help in the selection of the right valve for the job.

The Dramm QAV Plastic Shut-Off Valve is the newest valve and replaces the older 35 model. This valve was engineered to be a lower cost and lighter weight. With it’s patented design, the QAV has a combined handle and ball that reduces assembly labor. Meaning, Dramm has the ability to use better materials, improving the quality for the same price. An additional benefit of the one-piece handle/ball assembly is that it eliminates a weak point: Where a screw normally fastens these parts together in a standard valve there are disadvantages. This screw loosens easily, causing early failure in many shut-off designs. By opting for a combined handle and ball, the risk of system failure is eliminated. The 300 Brass Valve is the ultimate valve offered by Dramm. Boasting the title of heavy-duty and easily serviceable, the Dramm 300 valves are built to last.
The next model is the Dramm 74 shut-off valve. This is a more durable, still light-weight and high flow valve. Using fiber-filled plastic, the 74 is strong but not heavy. A wide opening in the ball allows for higher flow rates than other valves allowing for faster, more efficient water flow. The Dramm 300 AL Aluminum Shut-Off Valve is also lightweight and durable. This valve uses the same design as the Dramm 300 Brass Shut-Off, however, the aluminum version is very light. Even though it is lightweight it still offers strong durability and high flow rate. Like the Brass version, the valve can be rebuilt, for a longer lifespan. The lifespan can be even more extended by using high quality water.
The next new valve offered through Dramm is the Touch N’ Flow Pro Trigger Valve, offering automatic shut off capability with a spring-loaded trigger. This makes on and off easy. Great for areas where you do not want overspray between growing areas or for drenches. OneTouch and OneTouch HighFlow valve boast a thumb-tip control for flexibility and ease-of-use with a durable, lightweight design that is well known of Dramm valves. The standard OneTouch has a slightly smaller body and lower flow than the HighFlow version and is great for smaller hands and uses where lower flows are needed. The OneTouch HighFlow can handle more water for faster application with larger hoses and nozzles.
With the new Dramm nozzles and hose connections, this combination is not complete without the new Dramm brass hose swivel. This swivel allows for the hose and valve to move independently from each other. This allows for flexibility and the risk of kinking in hoses lower than a standard connector. With this new line, the Dramm company has the grower in mind. From ease of use and improved functionality, the new line of Dramm stop valves and connectors are ready to be an asset in the commercial greenhouse, indoor farm, or in field operation. This new line of shut-off valves through Dramm offers the flexibility needed by an operation.
An operator should reach out to an MORR Inc. consultant to understand the differences and make the right decision to benefit from the right shut off valve and hose combination.
