Standardized Use Protocol for Grodan Gro-Blocks
A precise initialization process is critical for achieving the performance benefits of Grodan substrates.

  1. Saturation: Blocks must be saturated with a nutrient solution at an approximate EC of 1.5 and pH of 5.5. A coarse spray or brief submersion for up to two minutes is recommended to achieve full saturation without over-soaking.

  2. Initial Measurement: Weigh the block immediately after saturation to establish a baseline "wet weight". This weight is the reference point for managing irrigation throughout the crop cycle.

  3. Transplanting: A well-rooted seedling from a Grodan starter plug is inserted into the pre-formed hole of the saturated block.

  4. Irrigation Initiation: The first irrigation event should commence when the block's water content reaches 55% to 65% of its initial saturated weight.

  5. Ongoing Irrigation: Employ a pressure-compensated drip irrigation system. A single 0.5-1.0 GPH dripper is standard for GR10 blocks, while Jumbo and Hugo blocks require two drippers. The irrigation volume should be 3% to 6% of the total block volume per watering event.

Commercial Packaging and Sourcing
These products are supplied in bulk, commercial-grade packaging, typically without retail wrapping or labeling. Cases are consolidated onto pallets for high-volume operations, with specific quantities varying by product. For example, the GR6.5 Small ships 216 blocks per case, with 12 cases per pallet (2,592 blocks total), while the GR10 Large ships 144 blocks per case, with 12 cases per pallet (1,728 blocks total). The blocks are also available in ultra-bulk "pallet-only" configurations, such as a pallet of 2,448 GR6.5 Small blocks or 1,548 GR10 Large blocks, for the largest commercial facilities.
