The active ingredient is Cypermethrin at 24.8%, with inert ingredients comprising the remaining 75.2% of the formulation. It is an emulsifiable concentrate (EC) with a density of 0.966. The product is odorless.
Functional Mechanism and Design
Cypermethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide that acts on the nervous system of insects through contact and ingestion. It is designed for fast knockdown and provides long-lasting residual control, with effects reported to persist for approximately three months on treated surfaces.
Target Applications and Performance
This insecticide is labeled for use against a comprehensive list of pests, including ants, cockroaches, spiders, fleas, ticks, wasps, silverfish, flies, and many other common insects. It is approved for use in and around a vast array of sites, such as residential dwellings, commercial buildings, food handling establishments (non-food areas), hospitals, schools, greenhouses (when empty), and transportation vehicles.
Application Specifications and Protocol
The product is a concentrate that must be diluted with water. A typical dilution rate is 0.5 to 1 fluid ounce per gallon of water, treating approximately 1,000 square feet. It is applied using standard spray equipment as a crack and crevice, spot, or general surface treatment indoors, and primarily as a spot or crack and crevice treatment outdoors. Applications to building foundations are limited to a maximum height of 3 feet. It must not be used in aircraft cabins.
Handling and Safety
The product bears the signal word "CAUTION". Hazards include harmful effects if swallowed or inhaled, and it may cause skin sensitization and eye irritation. Applicators must avoid release to the environment and must not apply the product directly to water. The EPA Registration Number is 279-3081. It is a restricted-use product for professional applicators only.
