EDM050 WET Moisture Sensor Kit - Extended Calibrations - EC, Temperature, Moisture Sensor - Hand Held Data Logging
Details
Handheld moisture sensors provide research-grade monitoring solutions for root-zone conditions in commercial agriculture and horticulture. These instruments measure volumetric water content, electrical conductivity, and temperature, offering tools for portable spot checks and permanent, installed monitoring systems.
Handheld Moisture Sensor Kit w/ HH150 Readout Meter
The SM150 Portable Soil Moisture Kit enables rapid, portable measurement of substrate moisture. This integrated system consists of an SM150T sensor paired with a dedicated HH150 handheld meter. Users obtain a volumetric water content (VWC) reading by inserting the sensor's stainless steel pins into the growing media and pressing the meter's button. The SM150T sensor delivers an accuracy of ±3% VWC and incorporates factory-loaded calibrations for standard horticultural substrates, including mineral soil, peat mix, coir, mineral wool, and perlite, permitting immediate deployment without user calibration. The SM150T sensor contains an internal temperature sensor; however, the HH150 meter display is dedicated solely to moisture readings. This kit is engineered for efficiency in high-frequency walk-through monitoring where operational simplicity is critical.
WET Moisture Sensor Kit - Extended Calibrations - EC, Temperature, Moisture Sensor - Hand Held Data Logging
The WET-2 Sensor Kit provides simultaneous, three-parameter measurement for advanced substrate management. This sensor measures volumetric water content, temperature, and bulk electrical conductivity (EC), with the integrated capability to calculate the Pore Water Conductivity (ECp), a critical value representing the EC of the water accessible to plant roots. The included HH2 handheld meter displays readings and features onboard data logging memory for transfer to a computer. The kit is supplied with an extended library of calibrations covering a wide array of soil types and artificial growth media. With a stated accuracy of ±3% for water content and ±1.0°C for temperature, this system is a fundamental tool for precision fertigation management, salinity monitoring, and optimizing feeding schedules with controlled-release fertilizers.
Individual, Buriable Sensor Units are engineered for permanent installation and continuous data logging when connected to compatible external data loggers. The SM150T sensor measures soil moisture and temperature with ±3% VWC accuracy and features an IP68 environmental rating for long-term burial. Its threaded base facilitates installation at depth using optional extension rods. The ML3 ThetaProbe sensor provides high-accuracy volumetric water content measurement at ±1% VWC and includes a built-in temperature sensor. It operates in temperatures as low as -40°C and offers enhanced performance in saline substrates. Both sensor types output a standard 0-1V analog signal for integration with common data acquisition systems.
