Dosatron Plumbing & Installation Kits are engineered component assemblies designed to facilitate the proper installation, protection, and monitoring of water-powered dosing systems. These kits provide critical ancillary parts not included with the core injector, ensuring system integrity, safety, and functionality. They are categorized by their specific roles within the larger dosing system architecture.
Flow Protection and Hydraulic Control Kits These kits mitigate damaging pressure phenomena and control water flow within the dosing loop.
Water Hammer Arrestor Kits: Water hammer, a destructive pressure surge caused by the sudden stoppage of water flow, can damage injectors, fittings, and gauges. The Water Hammer Arrestor Installation Kits (available for 3/4-inch and as part of the End-Kit for high-flow) contain a sealed, gas-charged bladder that absorbs these shock waves, protecting the entire downstream system. They are essential for installations with solenoid valves or fast-closing ball valves.
End-Kit High-Flow with Water Hammer Arrestor: This is a comprehensive terminal assembly for high-flow (1-1/2-inch) systems. It combines a water hammer arrestor with a system terminus, often including a ball valve for flow control and a fitting for attaching a sensor or gauge, creating a protected endpoint for the dosing loop.
Sensor Loop Hi Flow GF: This kit provides a bypass loop assembly that allows for the installation of inline flow sensors (such as the GF Series) without restricting the main water line. It ensures accurate flow measurement for system monitoring or feedback control without creating a significant pressure drop.
Concentrate Injection and Mixing Kits These kits are responsible for introducing the chemical concentrate into the water stream and ensuring its complete integration.
Injection Tee Assembly: This is a fundamental component where the suction line from the Dosatron injector connects to the main water line. The tee provides the injection port and is a critical wetted part. The "w/Out M" designation typically indicates a female-threaded port for the suction line.
Injection Mixing Kit High-Flow: This kit includes the high-flow injection tee and associated fittings specifically sized for 1-1/2-inch systems to handle the higher volumes and pressures.
Mixing Chamber Kits: The mixing chamber is a dedicated section of pipe installed immediately downstream of the injector. The Low Flow 3/4-Inch and High-Flow 1-1/2-Inch kits provide the necessary unions and pipe to create this chamber, which is essential for allowing turbulent flow to thoroughly homogenize the concentrate with the water before it reaches the point of use. The Mixing Chamber Sleeve is an internal component that can be added to some mixing chambers to enhance turbulence and mixing efficiency.
System Monitoring and Control Kits These kits add sensing and data acquisition capabilities to a dosing system.
Monitor Plumbing Kits: These kits provide the specialized fittings, valves, and chambers required to physically install a nutrient or pH monitor probe (such as those from Bluelab) into a pressurized dosing line. They create a sealed, bypass flow cell where the probe can take accurate readings of the final mixed solution.
Monitor Kits: These are more comprehensive than the plumbing-only kits and typically include the flow cell assembly, necessary valves, and sometimes a mounting bracket, but explicitly exclude the electronic monitor probe itself, which must be purchased separately.
Sensor Package for GF Series Sensors: This is a complete set of components for installing an ultrasonic flow sensor from the GF Series. It includes the sensor loop, mounting hardware, and connectivity parts, enabling precise, real-time flow measurement for system analytics or closed-loop control.
Level Sensor Kit Submersible SS: This kit includes a submersible stainless steel probe and associated cabling for monitoring the fluid level inside a concentrate stock tank. It provides critical information for inventory management and can be integrated with control systems to trigger low-level alarms or automated refill processes.
Installation and Selection Guidelines Selecting the correct kit requires matching the pipe size (3/4-inch or 1-1/2-inch) to the system's injector and main line. The injection tee and mixing chamber must be installed directly downstream of the injector, following the flow direction arrow. For systems with aggressive chemicals, verifying the chemical compatibility of all wetted kit components—including O-rings and seal materials—is mandatory prior to installation. Proper support and mounting of all components, especially sensors and monitors, is necessary to prevent stress on fittings and ensure accurate readings.
