Strobe Pro is a broad-spectrum fungicide that combines two active ingredients with systemic properties for the preventive and curative control of fungal diseases in turfgrass. It is formulated for use on golf courses, lawns, and landscape areas around residential, institutional, public, commercial, and industrial buildings, as well as parks, recreational areas, and athletic fields.
Chemical Composition and Formulation
This product contains 6% Azoxystrobin and 10% Propiconazole as its active ingredients. It carries EPA Registration Number 53883-418 and has a "Caution" signal word. The formulation is a liquid concentrate with a density of 8.75 pounds per gallon. It has a moderate sweet odor and a flash point above 230°F.
Functional Mechanism
Strobe Pro utilizes a dual mode of action for enhanced disease control and resistance management. Azoxystrobin (Group 11) interferes with the normal respiration of fungal cells by inhibiting the electron transport system (QoI site), which prevents the fungus from converting energy for normal functions. Propiconazole (Group 3) functions as a DMI (demethylation inhibitor) by preventing fungal cell membranes from forming.
Target Applications and Performance
This product controls a broad spectrum of foliar, stem, and root diseases, including anthracnose, brown patch, dollar spot, fairy rings, gray leaf spot, gray snow mold, leaf spot, melting out, necrotic ring spot, pink snow mold, powdery mildew, pythium blight, red thread, rust, spring dead spot, summer patch, and take-all patch. It is effective on both warm-season and cool-season turfgrasses, including bentgrass, bermudagrass, bluegrass, fescue, and ryegrass.
Application Specifications and Protocol
Strobe Pro should be applied prior to disease development. Mix the product with the required amount of water and apply as a dilute spray application in 2 to 4 gallons of water per 1000 square feet (87 to 174 gallons per acre). For spot treatments, use 1.5 fluid ounces of Strobe Pro per 1 to 2 gallons of water. Repeat applications at specified intervals for as long as required.
Do not apply more than 8.1 gallons of product per acre per year (23.75 fluid ounces per 1000 square feet per year). Do not exceed 3 fluid ounces per 1000 square feet every 30 days on any variety of bermudagrass. In Florida, do not apply to bermudagrass golf course greens when temperatures exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
Use Restrictions and Compatibility
Strobe Pro is compatible with many commonly used fungicides, liquid fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, and biological control products. The product has demonstrated some phytotoxic effects when mixed with products formulated as emulsifiable concentrates (ECs), particularly under cool, cloudy conditions. Adjuvants containing silicone have also contributed to phytotoxicity. Bermudagrass can be sensitive to this product.
Do not graze or feed clippings from treated turf areas to animals. Do not apply to turf by air. Do not apply through any irrigation or chemigation system. A Restricted Entry Interval (REI) of 24 hours applies. The product is not registered for sale or use in all states; check local registration status before purchase.
