About this product

BotanoHealth BH-B is an OMRI Listed fungicide developed for organic and conventional crop production. The product contains 1% thyme oil as the sole active ingredient, formulated as a soluble concentrate (SL). BH-B is produced under a patented technology (NANOTECH) that generates a nanoemulsion, modifying the structure of thyme oil to improve protectant activity and coverage efficiency.

BH-B is registered under FRAC code BM01, indicating a botanical mode of action not classified within standard biochemical groupings. The fungicide acts as a contact, preventive treatment. Its mode of action involves damaging the fungal cell membrane and disrupting ergosterol production, a metabolic process required for fungal cell wall integrity. This mechanism does not affect plant physiology.

The NANOTECH formulation includes polysaccharides that improve product persistence on plant surfaces by reducing evaporation and resistance to wash-off from rain. The nanoemulsion maximizes spreading of the active ingredient across the leaf surface, allowing effective coverage at a lower concentration (1% active ingredient) than conventional thyme oil formulations.

BH-B is recommended for use in organic agriculture to produce residue-free crops. In conventional agriculture, it allows growers to reduce chemical input in crop protection programs. The product presents a low risk of resistance development, making it suitable for inclusion in disease management rotation programs.

Geographic Origin and Production

BH-B is produced in Israel at a facility located between the Judean Desert and the Dead Sea. This region provides a microclimate with specific geographical conditions that produce thyme extract with characteristics distinct to BH-B formulation.

Certification

OMRI Certification (Organic Materials Review Institute) is confirmed for BH-B. All components are renewable and of natural origin. The certification is listed for organic production.

Field Trial Locations (Verifiable Data)

The following field trials are documented in product technical files:

  • Blueberry, Botrytis cinerea: Peru, La Libertad, Viru; Peru, Chiclayo Lambayeque, Tuman

  • Grape, Botrytis cinerea: Peru, La Libertad, Chao, Viru; Peru, La Libertad, Pacanga, Chepen

  • Raspberry, Botrytis cinerea: Mexico, Michoacan, Zona Maravatio

  • Tomato, Botrytis cinerea: Mexico, Morelos, Zona Tlayacapan

  • Cucumber, Sphaerotheca fuliginea: Mexico, Morelos, Zona Tlayacapan

  • Tobacco, Peronospora hyoscyami (syn. Peronospora tabacina): Nicaragua, Jalapa

Rice Application Data (Vietnam)

Field trials in Vietnam documented the following yield results for rice:

Treatment g a.i./ha mL/ha Yield (ton/ha)
Untreated 4.7
BHB @ 1000 1000 1000 5.6
BHB @ 2000 2000 2000 6.2
BHB @ 3000 3000 3000 6.1

Water pH measurements during application: 7.21 (first), 7.16 (second), 6.70 (third).

Important Application Notes

Use preventively. BH-B is a contact and preventive fungicide. Early spraying before disease establishment is critical for efficacy.

Thorough leaf coverage is required. While the nanoemulsion improves spreading properties, complete coverage of treated surfaces remains necessary.

Polysaccharides in the formulation reduce wash-off and evaporation, extending persistence on plant surfaces.

OMRI listed. Suitable for organic production and residue-free crop programs.

Low risk of resistance problems. The botanical mode of action (FRAC BM01) makes BH-B ideal for rotation programs with synthetic fungicides.

Mixing Instructions

  1. Add half the required water to the tank.

  2. Add BH-B while agitating.

  3. Add remaining water and mix thoroughly.

  4. Apply immediately after mixing.

Always read and follow all label directions and application instructions before use.
