Details

Bell Labs Detex Non-Toxic Monitoring BLOX with Lumitrack is a professional-grade, non-toxic bait designed for precise monitoring and tracking of rodent infestations. Formulated entirely with 16 human food-grade ingredients and containing no active poison, it allows for safe use in sensitive environments such as schools, hospitals, food processing facilities, and zoos. The key to its effectiveness is the proprietary Lumitrack technology. When rodents consume the highly palatable bait, an inert marker additive passes through their digestive system and causes their droppings to fluoresce a bright neon green under ultraviolet (UV) light. This enables pest management professionals to not only confirm rodent presence but also to map activity trails, locate harborage sites, identify specific burrows, and assess the scope of the infestation.

The product is available in two principal formulations. The first is a standard 20-gram BLOX with a center hole for secure placement on rods within Bell Labs Protecta, Protecta LP, and Protecta EVO series tamper-resistant bait stations. This format is supplied in an 8.8-pound pail. The second is a convenient 10-gram sachet, packaged in a 4-pound resealable bag, which allows for clean, precise placement in runways, tight spaces, and other areas where blocks are less practical. For optimal results, it is recommended to place one bait station with Detex every 30 to 50 feet for rats and every 6 to 14 feet for mice, following a perimeter protection strategy. A standard monthly inspection schedule is advised, with more frequent checks recommended during autumn and winter months.

The established professional workflow is to deploy Detex baits to first establish a baseline of rodent activity. Once feeding and active runways are confirmed via gnaw marks and the detection of glowing droppings under a UV light, the non-toxic bait can be replaced with an appropriate rodenticide or trap to initiate the control phase. This method ensures targeted, efficient use of control products. It is important to note that this product is not for sale in the state of Alaska, and all baits should be placed within secured, tamper-resistant stations.
