Details

Roundup Pro Concentrate is a post-emergence, systemic herbicide formulated as a water-soluble liquid containing surfactant for broad-spectrum control of annual and perennial weeds, woody brush, and trees. It contains the active ingredient glyphosate in the form of its isopropylamine salt and is designed for use in industrial, turf, and ornamental sites.

Chemical Composition and Formulation
This product contains the isopropylamine salt of glyphosate at a concentration of 50.2% by weight, along with a proprietary surfactant blend at 13.0%. It is formulated as a clear, light yellow to amber liquid with a slight odor. The product has a relative density of 1.20 g/cm³ at 20°C and a pH of 4.4 to 5.1 in a 6.25% deionized water solution. It carries EPA Registration Number 524-529 and has a "Caution" signal word.

Functional Mechanism
Roundup Pro Concentrate operates as an EPSP synthase inhibitor, classified under WSSA Mode of Action Group 9 / HRAC Code G. The herbicide moves through the plant from the point of foliage contact into the root system. Visible effects on most annual weeds occur within 2 to 4 days, appearing as gradual wilting and yellowing that advances to complete browning of above-ground growth and deterioration of underground plant parts. On most perennial species, visible effects may not occur for 7 days or more. The product has no soil residual activity and binds tightly to soil, with low volatility.

Target Applications and Performance
This product controls a broad spectrum of over 200 weed species. Target pests include: bermudagrass, barnyardgrass, crabgrass, dallisgrass, foxtail, goosegrass, johnsongrass, quackgrass, ryegrass; broadleaf weeds such as chickweed, clover, dandelion, ground ivy, henbit, lambsquarters, pigweed, plantain, ragweed, thistle; and woody plants and brush including alder, ash, blackberry, elm, hickory, maple, oak, poison ivy, and willow.

Use sites include non-crop areas such as airports, apartment complexes, commercial and industrial sites, driveways, dry ditches and canals, golf courses, greenhouses, landscape areas, lumberyards, parks, parking areas, residential areas, roadsides, and around ornamental plantings. The product is labeled for use in both warm-season and cool-season regions.

Application Specifications and Protocol
For ground application only as a post-emergent treatment. The product is available in multiple container sizes including 2.5-gallon jugs, 30-gallon drums, and 265-gallon totes. Avoid contact of this herbicide with foliage, stems, exposed non-woody roots, or desirable plants and trees, as severe injury or destruction may result. Heavy rainfall soon after application may wash the product off treated surfaces.

Use Restrictions and Compatibility
Do not apply through any type of irrigation system. A Restricted Entry Interval (REI) of 4 hours applies. Early entry workers must wear coveralls, shoes plus socks, and chemical-resistant gloves made of any waterproof material. Applicators and other handlers must wear long-sleeved shirt and long pants, shoes plus socks. The product is not registered for sale or use in all states; check local registration status before purchase. Do not graze or feed clippings from treated areas to animals.

Handling and Safety
Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing. Ensure adequate ventilation during handling. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco, using the toilet, or applying cosmetics. Remove contaminated clothing immediately and clean thoroughly before reusing.

First Aid
If on skin or clothing: Wash off immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Call a physician or poison control center immediately. If in eyes: Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20 minutes. Remove contact lenses after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing. Call a physician or poison control center immediately. If swallowed: Call a physician or poison control center immediately. Rinse out mouth and give water in small sips to drink. Do NOT induce vomiting unless directed to do so. If inhaled: Move to fresh air. If not breathing, call 911, then give artificial respiration. Call a physician or poison control center immediately.

Storage and Disposal
Store in original container in a cool, dry place, in a manner that prevents cross-contamination with other crop protection products, fertilizers, food, and feed. Store in a location accessible only by authorized persons. Reacts with galvanized steel or unlined mild steel to produce hydrogen, a highly flammable gas that could explode. Protect from freezing; partial crystallization may occur on prolonged storage below minimum temperature, but freezing will not damage the material—thaw and mix before using. Keep away from food, drink, and animal feedingstuffs. Dispose of containers according to local regulations.
