Pristine® Fungicide is a broad-spectrum, dual-mode of action systemic fungicide formulated for use in berries, tree fruit, vegetables, and greenhouse crops. It contains two active ingredients from different chemical groups to manage disease resistance.
Chemical Composition and Formulation
The product is a fungicide with two active ingredients belonging to Fungicide Resistance Action Committee (FRAC) Groups 7 and 11.
Functional Mechanism and Design
Pristine® Fungicide has a dual systemic mode of action. It inhibits spore germination, mycelial growth, and sporulation of target fungi. Products in the AgCelence® portfolio, which includes Pristine®, provide physiological benefits beyond disease control, such as improved plant vitality and tolerance to abiotic stress factors like humidity, heat, drought, and cold.
Target Applications and Performance
This fungicide is labeled for a wide range of horticultural crops. Key targets include apple scab, pear scab, and powdery mildew on pome fruit; powdery mildew, downy mildew, and bunch rot on grapes; Botrytis grey mould and Phomopsis on caneberries and blueberries; and various diseases on leafy vegetables, cucurbits, and other listed crops.
Application Specifications and Protocol
Applications must begin prior to disease development and continue on a 7- to 14-day schedule, depending on the crop. Maximum seasonal applications range from 2 to 6, as specified per crop group. Pre-harvest intervals (PHI) vary from 0 to 14 days. Application rates are crop- and disease-specific. For example, on apples for scab control, the rate is 1.0–1.2 kg/ha, while on grapes for powdery mildew, the rate is 0.42–0.735 kg/ha.
Handling and Safety
All handling, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, re-entry intervals, and storage and disposal instructions are mandated by the EPA-approved product label, which must be read and followed in its entirety.
